About the Role : Data Governance Functional Lead

Location : Remote - India

We are seeking a Data Governance Functional Lead to drive enterprise-level data governance initiatives across multiple business domains. This role focuses on establishing governance frameworks, facilitating business workshops, and partnering with technology teams to operationalize governance using specialized tools and platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise, exceptional communication skills, and experience in setting up governance councils, policies, and AI governance practices within an enterprise environment.

What You’ll Do :

• Lead Data Governance Initiatives : Design, implement, and institutionalize data governance frameworks, policies, and processes across business units.
• Facilitate Business Workshops : Conduct business workshops with enterprise clients to define governance objectives, roles, and ownership models.
• Establish Governance Council : Help set up and formalize the Data Governance Council — document charters, roles, responsibilities, and governance operating models.
• Collaborate with Technical Teams : Work with data engineering, architecture, and security teams to implement governance controls using platforms such as Microsoft Purview , Databricks Unity Catalog , and Informatica .
• Drive AI Governance : Implement and monitor AI governance principles ensuring compliance, ethical AI use, and adherence to organizational policies.
• Business Alignment : Understand diverse business domains — Real Estate, Retail, E-Commerce, Investment Holding, Hospitality & Entertainment, and Government Entities — to align governance frameworks with business priorities.
• Compliance & Security : Ensure all governance processes align with Microsoft Security and Compliance Frameworks , regulatory standards, and enterprise risk guidelines.
• Stakeholder Management : Partner with senior business leaders, data owners, and IT teams to drive governance adoption and maturity.
