Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst – Job Description
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for testing software applications, identifying defects, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. The role involves creating test plans, executing test cases, documenting results, and collaborating with development teams to improve product quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Documentation
- Analyze business requirements and technical specifications.
- Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Identify test scenarios for functional, regression, and integration testing.
2. Test Execution
Execute manual and automated test cases.Validate functionality, performance, and usability of applications.Document test results and log defects in the tracking system (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.).3. Defect Management
Identify, report, and track defects through resolution.Work closely with developers to troubleshoot issues.Retest fixes and ensure proper resolution.4. Quality Control & Process Improvement
Ensure adherence to QA standards, best practices, and SDLC process.Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings (Agile).Recommend process improvements to enhance testing efficiency.5. Collaboration & Communication
Work with product owners, business analysts, developers, and project managers.Provide regular updates on testing status and risks.Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Agile / Scrum methodologies.Experience with test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).Hands-on experience in manual testing.Basic understanding of automation tools (Selenium, Postman, Cypress is a plus).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
