About the Team

At Crunchyroll, our Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for the foundation on which our services are built. We directly influence our customer experience and the velocity of our engineers. Our team objectives are to ensure that our developers are enabled, our tools are self-service, that everything about our infrastructure is automated and consistent.

About the role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer within the Infrastructure Engineering team, you are essential in automating and scaling the systems and services that power our streaming platform. You will partner with other infrastructure engineers and our development teams to work on and lead projects related to infrastructure automation, scaling, and CICD. You will play an important role in driving them forward to completion and ensuring that the platform processes, automation and best practices are being followed and guide them to improving observability, security, and reliability. In collaboration with other engineers, you develop tools and systems that support services and facilitate high-quality software delivery. You are expected to take on initiatives to improve our technologies and processes.

About you

You have an in-depth understanding of Software and DevOps methodologies, automation, and infrastructure as code. Your experience in designing, building, and scaling high availability systems shows your commitment to operational excellence. You excel in a collaborative environment and can work well with your teammates, providing a good example to other engineers to achieve high quality and standards in everything they do. As a Senior DevOps engineer, you will report to the DevOps Manager.

Requirements :

• At least a Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar.
• 8+ years of experience working in production-level environments as a DevOps / SRE
• Expert in AWS cloud technologies, coupled with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Pulumi and Terraform
• 3+ years of experience managing containerized infrastructure in ECS or Kubernetes
• Experience in GitOps practices and CI / CD.
• Experience managing Linux based infrastructure.
• Experience with observability and instrumentation of services so that efficient dashboards and alerts are created.
• Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL and non-relational databases like MongoDB, DynamoDB.
• Experience with CDN and caching technologies including AWS CloudFront.
• Experience working with and guiding Software Engineers in production best practices, sharing knowledge across teams and teammates.
• Experience in at least two or more programming languages including TypeScript
• Able to accommodate periodic evening meetings with the US based team.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Participate in an on-call and developer support rotations.
