Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for COMMIS III specializing in Continental cuisine. The role requires assisting senior chefs with fundamental kitchen tasks, including food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards in their designated station . The role is based in Visakhapatnam, India.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for daily menus, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning vegetables, fruits, and other food items.
• Prepare simple dishes under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring adherence to recipes and portion sizes.
• Learn and apply wellness-focused culinary techniques as per the prescribed standard operating procedure.
• Provide support to the Chef de Partie and other senior kitchen staff in executing daily culinary tasks.
• Assist in the preparation of dishes for special diets, such as gluten-free, vegan, or allergy-friendly meals.
• Help with plating and presentation, ensuring that dishes meet the resort's high standards for aesthetics and quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Participate in daily cleaning tasks, including washing utensils, cleaning work surfaces, and disposing of waste.
• Ensure that all food storage areas are clean, organized, and properly labeled.
• Take an active role in learning new skills and techniques from senior chefs, including the preparation of wellness-focused cuisine.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance culinary knowledge and skills, particularly in health-conscious cooking methods.
• Show initiative in understanding the wellness philosophy of the resort and how it translates into the culinary offerings.
• Assist in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries of fresh produce and other ingredients, ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Learn to handle and store ingredients properly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
• Support inventory management by keeping track of ingredient usage and reporting any shortages or quality issues to senior chefs.
• Understand and contribute to the resort's wellness goals by preparing food that supports a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
• Continuously seek to improve personal culinary practices to better serve the health and wellness needs of guests.
