Senior Java Developer with Java17 or 21 and PostgreSQL experience

About the Role

We’re seeking a passionate Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic and innovative team, working on a cutting-edge product that pushes the boundaries of technology. You’ll collaborate with a cross-functional, self-organizing team that values autonomy, agility, and continuous improvement .

In this role, you’ll work closely with development leads, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions that drive real business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within an agile team to design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications.
  • Translate complex business requirements and user stories into efficient technical solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code using best practices.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot .
  • Participate in code reviews , refactoring, and design discussions to ensure software quality.
  • Implement unit, integration, and system tests to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Provide Level 3 production support and troubleshoot critical issues when needed.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and team knowledge-sharing.
  • Collaborate effectively with onshore and offshore teams in a global environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
  • Strong proficiency in Java 17 or 21 and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Deep understanding of Spring Boot , REST APIs , microservices architecture , and WebSockets .
  • Solid knowledge of unit testing , code refactoring , and software design patterns .
  • Experience with build and CI / CD tools : Maven, Git, Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka , Zookeeper , and PostgreSQL .
  • Familiarity with Hibernate ORM , YAML configuration , and API documentation tools (e.G., Swagger / OpenAPI).
  • Excellent problem-solving , analytical , and communication skills.

    • Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Docker , Kubernetes , and cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP).
  • Knowledge of Reactive Programming (Project Reactor, RxJava).
  • Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and DevOps principles .
  • Understanding of security practices , OAuth2 , and JWT .
  • Exposure to performance tuning and distributed system design .
