As a Process Control & Quality Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, analysing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure consistent quality and operational excellence. This role involves implementing advanced process control strategies, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve world-class standards in semiconductor manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop applications and provide operational support, integrating vendor solutions across :
- Fault Detection Classification, FDC
- Statistical Process Control, SPC
- Recipe Management System, RMS
- Advanced Process Control, APC R2R
- Yield Management System, YMS
- Failure Modes & Effect Analysis, FMEA
- Out of Control Action Plan, OCAP
- Quality Management System, QMS
- Collaborate with Fab operations team to understand business objectives, analyse operational needs, and implement robust, scalable solutions.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Operational Support
Monitor and maintain hardware / software systems to ensure high uptime and reliability of process-control environments.Manage database transactions and Oracle packages for data integrity and performance tuning.Monitor equipment tool performance and data transfers; ensure compliance with operational requirements.Conduct regular maintenance and updates of automation programs; implement ad-hoc fixes to alleviate operational pain points.Troubleshoot and resolve system issues (hardware / software).Participate in shift pass-down meetings and provide detailed reports or feedback to production and engineering teams.Monitor, track, and report operational performance and issues during daily operations meetings.Conduct comprehensive functionality tests for new and updated applications to ensure desired results.Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality to identify and execute improvement opportunities.Participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality.Share lessons learned; drive root-cause analysis and implement durable solutions.Essential Skills & Attributes
Strong programming skills in C, C#, C++, Java, SQL, and Oracle, with at least 3 years of software development experience.Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment and support high-volume manufacturing operations.Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Improvement methodologies.Proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging complex manufacturing systems.Strong sense of urgency and ownership in operational support and execution.Practical problem-solving skills for production-critical situations, maintaining composure under pressure during system failures or production issues.Proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging CIM systems.Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues effectively; communicate technical issues and implement solutions effectively across functional teams.Proactive approach to root cause analysis and implementing long-term corrective solutions.Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and IT teams.Enthusiasm to learn new technologies, tools, and systems related to semiconductor domain and system implementation.Ability to adapt quickly to evolving manufacturing needs and fast-paced environments.Strong time-management skills to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science, Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.Preferred Experience
Semiconductor manufacturing or process-control systems experience.Familiarity with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
