Key Responsibilities :
- Diagnose and manage infectious diseases such as bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections.
- Provide consultation to other departments on infection-related issues.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient care under the supervision of the Consultant.
- Assist in managing antimicrobial stewardship programs and infection control protocols.
- Participate in hospital infection surveillance and outbreak response.
- Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests related to infectious diseases.
- Stay up to date with national and international infectious disease guidelines.
- Contribute to training and education of junior medical staff, residents, and nursing teams.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and academic research.
- Document clinical care in compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Experience :
Educational Qualification :MD / DNB in General Medicine or Internal MedicineDM / DNB or Fellowship in Infectious Diseases (or equivalent certification)Experience :Prior experience in an infectious disease unit is preferred but not mandatory for recent fellows.Licensure :Valid registration with Medical Council (State / National)Key Skills :
Strong clinical acumen and diagnostic ability in infectious diseasesEffective communication and teamwork skillsFamiliarity with infection prevention and control practicesAbility to work in high-pressure, multidisciplinary settingsInterest in teaching and academic contributionDesirable Attributes :
Involvement in research or publications in infectious disease topicsExperience in treating immunocompromised patients, ICU-related infections, or transplant-related infectionsKnowledge of current trends in antimicrobial resistance and global health threatsSkills Required
