About the Role :

We are seeking a BIM Modular / Design Engineer from a mechanical background to join our in-house product development team. The role involves designing and developing mechanical products and modular solutions such as HVAC modules, prefabricated MEP units, skids, etc. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed BIM models, general arrangement drawings (GAD), AutoCAD drafting, and coordinating with production, R&D, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Create BIM models for modular / prefabricated mechanical products.
  • Develop part drawings, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOQs / BOMs.
  • Work closely with internal teams (R&D, production, electrical, controls) to develop functional product prototypes.
  • Assist in optimizing design for manufacturability, modularity, and ease of installation.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for standards, revisions, and product libraries (Revit / BIM families or CAD blocks).
  • Support product testing, prototyping, and improvement of in-house developed solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality processes, safety guidelines, and industry standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2–3 years of experience in BIM modeling and / or mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, sheet metal components, or modular fabrication will be an added advantage.
  • Strong ability to read technical drawings and develop accurate models and BOQs.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding or experience in mechanical equipment design.

    • Preferred (Good to Have) :

  • Experience in modular construction, prefabricated MEP systems, or HVAC product development.
  • Familiarity with standards such as ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or BIM 360.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, fabrication, or shop-floor workflows.
