Piping Designer

Job Title : Piping Designer – Onshore Services Location : Chennai, India Company : Lamprell Department : Engineering Employment Type : Full-Time Role Overview : The Piping Designer will be responsible for preparing piping design deliverables for onshore oil & gas projects. This includes creating plot plans, equipment layouts, piping plans, isometrics, and support details, while ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and engineering best practices. Key Responsibilities : Develop piping designs including plot plans, equipment layouts, and piping plans under the guidance of senior engineers. Prepare construction drawings and job packages including isometrics, material take-offs (MTOs), and support details. Perform interdisciplinary checks to ensure coordination across engineering disciplines. Review and incorporate vendor drawings and specifications. Conduct site surveys to support design accuracy and feasibility. Maintain drawing registers and ensure proper documentation control. Ensure compliance with Lamprell’s HSES (Health, Safety, Environment, and Security) policies. Adhere to all applicable information security policies and procedures. Qualifications : Education : Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Experience : Minimum 5–8 years in piping design for onshore oil & gas projects. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, AVEVA, or SP3D. Familiarity with piping materials, dimensional standards, and fabrication practices. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
