Role Summary
We are seeking a high-performing Technical Architect who will lead the end-to-end architecture, design and delivery of complex order management and revenue-lifecycle solutions built on the Salesforce Communications Cloud (formerly Vlocity) platform. The candidate will partner with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, and delivery teams to transform the quote-to-cash, order orchestration and fulfillment processes of a communications service provider (CSP) or similar telco / subscription business.
The “superstar” candidate will not only design scalable solutions but will own the architecture governance, integration strategy, product & catalogue modelling, and technical roadmap for OM / CPQ / Revenue flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of the Order Management (OM) domain within Communications Cloud : order capture, decomposition, orchestration, fulfillment, cancellations / returns, and event posting into revenue / billing systems.
- Define and enforce best-practice frameworks for product catalogue (EPC), pricing strategy, subscription / offer modelling, configuration flows, guided selling, and order lifecycle management.
- Develop the integration architecture linking Salesforce OM to external BSS / OSS, inventory, provisioning, billing / revenue systems (e.g., via APIs, message queues, event-driven architecture).
- Provide hands-on guidance and governance : review design artifacts (logical, physical, data, integration, deployment), perform design reviews, enforce coding / configuration best practices, monitor performance / scale.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders (sales, operations, billing, IT) to translate complex telecom / communications business requirements into architecture and technical solution (e.g., wholesale / retail, B2C / B2B order volume, product bundles, multi-play services, network + device + security).
- Drive cross-team alignment : coordinate between solution architects, cloud engineers, DevOps / CI-CD teams, data / integration teams, and delivery / project managers.
- Stay ahead of the product roadmap for Salesforce Communications Cloud, CPQ, Order Management, Revenue Cloud and related modules; evaluate new features and drive adoption.
- Assist in pre-sales or client engagement work : technical deep-dives, proof-of-concepts, client workshops, estimating effort, and architectural options.
- Mentor and upskill delivery teams : lead by example, share technical knowledge of Salesforce Industries (Vlocity) OM / CPQ / EPC, OmniStudio, best practices and governance.
- Provide operational oversight of large data volume (LDV) scenarios, high throughput order volumes (e.g., tens of thousands of orders / day), performance, resilience, error-handling, and scalability of the end-to-end systems.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 8-12 years in Salesforce architecture, of which at least 3-5 years in the telecom / communications / subscription domain (preferably with Communications Cloud / Vlocity).Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering large-scale Order Management implementations (end-to-end) in the Communications, Media or Telecom industry.Proficient in the engineering of Salesforce Industries Order Management (OM), including order decomposition, orchestration, fulfillment, event posting, subscription / offer management.Deep knowledge of CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote), Enterprise Product Catalog (EPC) modelling (offers, bundles, attributes, pricing, promotions), guided selling, and how it ties into OM.Hands-on experience with Salesforce Industries tooling : OmniStudio (OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, FlexCards), and native Salesforce platform (Apex, LWC, Flows) as needed.
