Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including financial control, forecasting, and budgeting, analysis of financial / business metrics, delivery of weekly / monthly / quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards and automation), and advising the line of business leaders on how to increase profitability and efficiencies.
As the Associate (602) within the Consumer & Business Banking P&A teams, you will be responsible for our key financial measures - Revenue and drivers, where you will be expected to deliver value-added financial reporting and analysis and assist with strategic direction and decision making. You will be expected to interact regularly with the finance partners, and peers across Consumer & Business Banking Finance teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop strong understanding of expense under Occupancy expense and key drivers behind month-on-month movement vs Budget / Outlook
- Lead forecasting / Budgeting process for various expense within Occupancy section with an eye to expense trend
- Drive month end closure by interacting with stakeholders, ensuring all the entries are accurately booked
- Sound understanding of accounting policies and standards and accrual process to drive monthly accounting reviews and work with accounting team on reclasses, accruals and missing postings.
- Drive accurate forecast at all expense level factoring all the current business scenario
- Plan, perform and execute end to end budget process at building level and finalize the overall Retail occupancy Budget
- Provide meaningful insights on the expense trend and explain business drivers in monthly actuals / outlook walk. Direct and support the team on reporting, forecasting, budget adjustments and variance walks
- Ensure all internal reporting are updated with branch planning decisions on a continuous basis. Develop strong interactions with business partners, finance partners, external vendors to analyze the financial impact on Forecast and Budget.
- Lead discussion on identifying risk and opportunity with business partners and track and report to senior management
- Work closely with branch planning, capital planning, property management and branch operations team to deliver a robust budget
- Direct the team on Ad hoc analysis on expense for Senior management with meaningful insights. Effective conversation with external vendors, negotiate the budget and review the financials
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
CA / CFA / MBA / PGDBM with 10+ years experiences in Planning & Analysis functionIn depth knowledge of Financial Planning, forecasting and budget processSound knowledge of accounting process like accruals, reclasses, amortizationAbility to manage multiple (and changing) project deliverables at same time; can independently prioritize deliverables, execute toward milestones, and identify roadblocksStrong communication, presentation, planning, and inter-personal skills. Confidence to work directly with senior managers to influence direction and provide a counter pointStrong knowledge of Excel and PowerPointInquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peersStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearlyPossess a transformation mindset with strong strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions conciselyPreferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Knowledge and experience of SQL, Python, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning would be preferredHybrid working.
