Job Purpose

Executes procurement strategies for assigned components (goods / services), to ensure that quality, cost effective products are delivered in a timely manner

Job Description

Profile Required

1. Past experience of working as a Procurement Engineer, responsible for procuring engineered equipment and material

for projects

2. Perform supplier negotiations

3. Handling commercial communication with clients / suppliers

4. Handling commercial issues related to purchasing, logistics (including import requirements and clearances), inspection,

warranty, back charge, etc.

5. Thorough knowledge of commercial terms and experience of purchasing from Indian / Global suppliers.

6. Preparation of procurement plan, management of procurement work processes, development of procurement activities

on projects.

7. Preparing and developing vendor database and assisting in qualification of vendor

8. Prepare complete set of documents pertaining to export / import shipping documentation

9. Get all required documents attested from the relevant authorities / ministries / chamber of commerce.

10. Maintain a direct relationship with the Bank pertaining to all export / import procedures and documentation.

11. Coordinate closely with the logistics / shipping Company / agents for scheduling and bookings shipments to ensure

smooth and timely cargo delivery.

12. Coordinate and liaise with suppliers and buyers to ensure smooth cargo operations.

13. Prepare freight invoices and receipt vouchers for freight received.

14. Track electronically the status of all the shipments and preparing a report of the same.

15. Prepare and submit statistical reports to the management.

16. Maintain period wise database for tariffs.

17. Handle other trading duties.

18. Working knowledge on any ERP system such as SAP is mandatory requirement.

19. Analytical Skills

You are meant for this job if :

Basic Job Requirements : - Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience : 5+ years’ experience in Procurement of Engineered Equipment’s and project Material preferably in the

Energy & Chemicals or Power sector
