Role Overview :

A VC-backed SaaS startup with $1M seed funding is looking for a Backend Engineer to design and build scalable backend systems for AI-powered products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, writes clean and efficient code, and enjoys solving complex technical challenges.

Role Responsibilities :

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
Optimize database performance and write efficient SQL queries.
Implement CI / CD pipelines and ensure smooth deployments.
Work with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure) for hosting and scaling services.
Ensure system reliability through observability practices (logging, monitoring, alerting).
Collaborate with frontend engineers and product teams to deliver seamless experiences.

Role Requirements :

2+ years of experience in backend development.

Strong proficiency in SQL and Java.

Solid understanding of OS fundamentals and networking concepts.

Experience with AWS / Azure and CI / CD pipelines.

Familiarity with observability tools (logging, monitoring).

Proficiency with Git-based workflows.

Strong focus on writing efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.
