We are seeking a Dynamic and experienced sales-oriented Business Development professional to drive business growth in the defence sector. The ideal candidate will be an Experienced Defence Business Professional or Ex-Army / Retired Defence professional, leveraging their deep operational knowledge, credibility, and established network to expand opportunities with military and government entities. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, driving sales strategies, building lasting relationships, and ensuring successful execution of defence contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales and business growth strategies targeting military and government customers.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across defence, government, and allied industries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers in Army, Navy, Air Force, DRDO, DPSUs, and MoD agencies.
- Manage the end-to-end sales lifecycle : prospecting, presentations, negotiations, trials, and contract closures.
- Support proposal, bid, and tender submissions in line with defence procurement policies (DAP / DPM).
- Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and technical teams to ensure solutions meet client requirements.
- Liaise with academia, R&D labs, and innovation agencies for partnerships, joint development, and iDEX opportunities.
- Stay updated on defence industry trends, procurement frameworks, and government regulations.
- Represent the company at defence expos, industry forums, and conferences to strengthen visibility and network.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Experienced Defence Business Professional, Ex-Army / Retired Defence professional preferred, with strong domain knowledge and credibility.5–10+ years of proven experience in sales, business development, or defence procurement.Any Degree with relevant experience in Defence sector salesStrong understanding of Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP), government procurement, and tendering processes.Established network within military decision-makers, defence contractors, and government agencies.Demonstrated success in closing complex deals and achieving sales targets in the defence domain.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, driving initiatives with accountability.Additional Considerations
Knowledge of technical defence solutions or systems will be a strong advantage.Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings, demonstrations, and industry events.Fluency in English; knowledge of additional Indian languages is an added asset.Proactive, resourceful, and committed to achieving measurable sales outcomes.Job Location : PAN India
