Job Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated GCS Design and Integration Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating Ground Control Station (GCS) software and systems with drones, ensuring robust communication, efficient operations, and seamless integration within the UAV ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and integrate GCS software solutions for UAV systems.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration of GCS with drone platforms.
- Work with autopilot systems (PX4 / ArduPilot) and implement MAVLink communication protocols.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain user interfaces for GCS applications using frameworks such as Qt.
- Conduct simulation testing using tools like Gazebo and ensure robust system validation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to communication protocols, sensors, and hardware components.
- Contribute to the development of backend systems, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Prepare technical documentation, test plans, and integration reports.
Qualifications & Skills :
Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.Programming : Proficiency in languages such as C++, Java, or Python for application development and backend systems.GCS & Drone Ecosystem : Experience with GCS software like QGroundControl, strong understanding of ArduPilot / PX4 autopilot ecosystem, and knowledge of the MAVLink protocol.Technical Expertise : Familiarity with drone hardware components, sensors, communication protocols, and drone development tools.Full-Stack Development : Experience with full-stack development, including GUI development with frameworks like Qt.Testing Tools : Experience with build management tools like CMake and simulation environments like Gazebo.Soft Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.(ref : hirist.tech)
