Job description

The Test Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all testing activities to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards. This role involves managing a team of test engineers, developing test strategies, and collaborating with design, production, and quality teams to deliver reliable electronic products

What you’ll own (mission)

  • Lead and scale the Test Engineering function for board & system-level production to ensure first-pass yield, reliability, and timely ramps to volume.
  • Deliver robust test strategies (ICT, AOI, X-Ray, functional, boundary-scan, system test), ATE infrastructure, and automation to meet product quality and throughput targets.
  • Be the primary technical contact for customers and cross-functional stakeholders on test readiness, failure analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Build a Solid technical capability in team who thrives in upcoming 5G-6G telecommunication and AI enabled Networking products.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Define and implement test strategies (ICT, AOI, X-Ray, functional, boundary-scan, system test) and test coverage targets for new product introductions (NPI) and production.
  • Oversee development, validation, and deployment of test programs on ATE platforms, lead test fixture & handler design reviews.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers for test requirements.
  • Drive DFT best practices, test coverage analysis, and design-for-testability recommendations with product engineering.
  • People & Operational Management

  • Lead a team of Test Engineers and Technicians (hiring, mentoring, performance management).
  • Set measurable KPIs (DPPM, first pass yield, cycle time, test coverage, mean time to detect / resolve failures) and report program readiness metrics to stakeholders.
  • Manage departmental budget for test equipment, spares, and tooling.
  • NPI & Customer Engagement

  • Act as test point of contact during NPI and ramp phases : review test plans, participate in design reviews, and lead test validations.
  • Present test readiness and improvement plans to customers and internal leadership.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Production to analyze failure trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Safety

  • Drive lean test processes, automation of manual steps, and test data analytics to reduce cost and cycle-time.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and site procedures.
  • Success Metrics (what success looks like in 6 months)

  • Achieve targeted first pass yield and DPPM targets for assigned program(s).
  • Deploy validated ATE and test programs for at least one NPI to production readiness.
  • Reduce average test cycle and demonstrate measurable cost / scrap reduction.
  • Build and certify a cross-functional team capable of leading sustained volume production.
  • Meet or exceed Customer Delivery dates with on time execution of test strategy and project management .
  • Required (Must-have)

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of test engineering experience in EMS / semiconductor / board manufacturing; minimum 3 years in a managerial or lead role.
  • Hands-on experience with ATE platforms, test program development, fixture / harness design, and DFT practices.
  • Strong experience with failure analysis and test data analytics.
  • Excellent stakeholder and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Pune with flexibility to support multi-site operations; up to ~10–20% travel (supplier / customer visits).
  • Preferred (Nice-to-have)

  • Experience with TRI, Key Sight, Teradyne, Advantest, Test Stand, LabVIEW, or Python-based test automation.
  • Exposure to high-volume server / datacenter or GPU-level test programs.
  • Experience in cost reduction programs, lean manufacturing, and reliability test programs.
  • Master’s degree or relevant certification in test engineering.
