Director of frontend engineering – 100% remote

Role Description The Director of Frontend Engineering leads the Web Fabric initiative—defining architecture, scaling teams, and ensuring low-latency, high-quality UX across all products. This leader manages 10+ engineers and managers, aligning with Data Engineering and ML / API teams to deliver end-to-end reliability and performance.

Job Responsibilities :

Own and evolve our frontend architecture and component strategy.

Manage 10+ frontend engineers and managers to deliver high-velocity React / Next.js applications.

Produce architecture documents, design specs, and implementation plans for exec review.

Align architecture and delivery roadmaps with Data, ML and API teams.

Establish frontend engineering best practices for CI / CD, testing, observability, and release automation.

Define and track KPIs for velocity, UX performance, and developer productivity.

Must Have Qualifications :

6+ years engineering experience (2+ in leadership managing 10+ engineers).

Deep experience with React, Next.js, Type Script or similar modern frameworks.

Demonstrated success building and operating large-scale frontend platforms.

Strong foundation in CI / CD automation and frontend observability.

Proven ability to write architecture docs and run design reviews.

Nice to Have Qualifications :

Design-system implementation, SSR / SSG optimization, RUM analytics.

Experience with real-time frontends (websockets, live data).

Familiarity with Vercel, Cloud Front, and modern deployment pipelines.
