Position Overview
This role involves teaching, research, and academic leadership in the domain of Sustainability Management. The faculty member will design and deliver courses, mentor students, collaborate with industry and community partners, and contribute to strengthening KCT Business School’s positioning as a centre of excellence for sustainable business practices.
Job Responsibilities (Basic → Advanced)
- Deliver classroom sessions across Sustainability, ESG, Environmental Economics, Responsible Leadership, and related subjects.
- Plan and manage coursework : course outlines, lesson plans, assessments, cases, and learning resources aligned to programme outcomes.
- Mentor and guide students on academic progress, career pathways, and professional readiness in sustainability / CSR / ESG roles.
- Supervise student outputs : projects, dissertations, fieldwork, and experiential / live industry projects in sustainability.
- Enable experiential learning by coordinating guest lectures, workshops, conclaves, and community initiatives tied to sustainability themes.
- Support academic governance : curriculum enhancement, accreditation / quality assurance processes, and institutional committees / cross-functional initiatives.
- Build external partnerships with industry, NGOs, government bodies, and sustainability networks for collaborative learning, outreach, and student opportunities.
- Drive research & impact : lead / contribute to publications, funded projects, and applied research in sustainability, climate action, social impact, or green innovation.
- Ensure curriculum relevance by staying current with global sustainability trends, standards, and regulations and translating them into teaching / research.
Job Specifications
Vital (Must-have)
Master’s in Management with specialisation / expertise in Sustainability / Environmental Management / ESG / CSR or related domains.Strong conceptual grounding in sustainability frameworks, policies, and industry practices.Ability to teach core and elective courses within the MBA (Sustainability Management) programme using case-based and experiential pedagogy.Essential (Should-have)
2–5 years of academic and / or relevant sustainability experience (sustainability / CSR / ESG practice, environmental sector roles, sustainability programmes, etc.).Demonstrated capability to guide student projects and deliver outcome-oriented learning.Strong communication, classroom engagement, and mentoring skills.Research inclination with evidence of publications, conference work, funded proposals, or ongoing projects.Desirable (Differentiators)
PhD completed / pursuing in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Social Impact, or related areas.Industry experience in sustainability functions (e.G., ESG / CSR implementation, decarbonisation programmes, EHS / sustainability operations, sustainability reporting, circularity, supply-chain sustainability)— not limited to consulting exposure .Relevant certifications (GRI, ESG reporting, environmental audit, sustainable business strategy, LCA / carbon accounting, etc.).Experience in curriculum design, accreditation activities, community development, multi-stakeholder partnerships, and participation in sustainability networks / forums
