Job description

Supervision : Supervise and coordinate the activities of the nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals. This involves scheduling, assigning duties, and evaluating performance.

Patient Care Management : Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care by monitoring patient conditions, coordinating and participating in patient assessments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to create and implement care plans.

Compliance : Ensure that nursing staff adhere to healthcare regulations, standards, and protocols. Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain compliance with relevant laws and accreditation standards.

Resource Management : Manage staffing levels, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient and effective nursing unit operations. This includes budgeting, resource allocation, and inventory control.

Training and Development : Provide training and professional development opportunities for nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.

Patient and Family Communication : Maintain open and effective communication with patients and their families, addressing their concerns and providing information about care plans and progress.

Quality Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as conducting regular audits, reviewing clinical outcomes, and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
