Role Summary
The Sourcing Engineer is responsible for end-to-end supplier management, strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of quality parts in alignment with organizational goals. The role drives total cost solutions across the supply chain, maintains SAP master data accuracy, and collaborates cross-functionally with logistics, finance, and suppliers to achieve operational excellence and continuous improvement in KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and feasibility; collaborate with suppliers to ensure their development meets established standards.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to reduce expenses, lead times, and inventory levels in line with the organization’s vision.
- Identify vendors for new product development, analyze feasibility, and negotiate costs effectively.
- Drive total cost solutions across the complete supply chain.
- Ensure timely supply of parts to meet customer requirements and work closely with suppliers to improve delivery performance.
- Procure parts from import and domestic suppliers in accordance with sourcing strategies.
- Act as a liaison between vendors and the finance team to resolve payment-related concerns and ensure timely payment releases for uninterrupted supply.
- Conduct frequent business and performance reviews with suppliers to improve KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory levels (including slow-moving and excess items), and cost savings; drive continual improvement in these areas.
- Manage functional master data in SAP, including cost records, safety stock levels, forecasts, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and lead times to ensure smooth business processes.
- Collaborate with the logistics department to ensure timely and damage-free delivery of products.
