About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (Level 3) with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Applications (11i & R12) and Oracle Databases (11g & 12c). The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning, production support, and ongoing administration of large, highly transactional Oracle environments. This role requires deep technical knowledge, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to work in fast-paced, production-critical settings.
Key Responsibilities :
Oracle Apps & Database Administration :
- Perform end-to-end administration of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) 11i and R12 applications.
- Manage and support Oracle Databases 11g and 12c, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and cloning.
- Handle administration tasks across large-scale, highly transactional, multi-node RDBMS environments.
Performance Tuning & Monitoring :
Conduct database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning.Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager and related tools to ensure high availability and optimal performance.Manage JVM, Forms, Reports, iAS, WebLogic, SOA, and other components of the Oracle Applications technology stack.Patching, Utilities & Maintenance :
Use ADPatch, AD Utilities, Autoconfig, and related tools for application patching and maintenance.Apply database patches, EBS patches, and perform upgrades as required.Create and maintain scripts for task automation, monitoring, maintenance, and scheduling.High Availability, Backup & Recovery :
Perform database backups, restore operations, and manage recovery procedures.Configure and administer Oracle Data Guard, ensuring disaster recovery readiness.Work with ASM (Automatic Storage Management) for storage configuration and performance tuning.Experience with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) will be an added advantage.Production Support & Operations :
Provide 24x7 production support, including involvement in on-call rotation and weekend support when required.Troubleshoot complex database and application issues and provide immediate resolutions.Work closely with cross-functional teams including application support, infrastructure, and development teams.Documentation & Communication :
Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, maintenance tasks, standard operating procedures, and issue resolutions.Communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.Provide recommendations for process improvements, database optimization, and best practices.Required Qualifications :
Education & Experience :
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Apps DBA roles managing EBS 11i and R12.Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Oracle Databases 11g & 12c.Technical Skills :
Proficient in managing Oracle EBS environments including Forms, Reports, PL / SQL, iAS, SOA, WebLogic, and JVM components.Hands-on experience with ADPatch, AD Utilities, Autoconfig, and patching activities.Strong skills in installation, upgrades, cloning, backup & recovery, and maintenance operations.Working experience with ASM and Data Guard is mandatory.Knowledge or exposure to RAC preferred.Ability to develop scripts for automation, monitoring, maintenance, and scheduling.Strong performance tuning and production support skills.Soft Skills :
Excellent communication and client interaction abilities.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Willingness to work in shift schedules and weekend on-call rotations.Preferred Qualifications :
Certification in Oracle Database or Oracle EBS (OCP, OCA, etc.).Experience with cloud-based Oracle environments.Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise ticketing systems.(ref : hirist.tech)
