Job Overview :

We are seeking someone to Lead the design, development, and testing of critical space mechanisms for launch vehicles, ensuring alignment with mission objectives, safety standards, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities :

Lead a team of engineers in the design, analysis, and testing of spacecraft mechanisms (e.g., separation systems, deployment units, and actuation systems).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, propulsion, avionics) to integrate mechanisms into launch vehicle architectures.
Perform hand calculations and simulation studies to assess the impact of various design choices to arrive at the optimum design with sufficient margins.
Develop and enforce technical standards, drawings, and documentation for mechanisms.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies for mechanism-related deliverables.
Conduct failure mode and criticality analysis and develop failure mitigation strategies

Required Experience :

Bachelor’s / master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

10+ years of experience in space mechanisms design, with 3+ years in a lead / managerial role.

Proficiency in CAD software (preferred - CREO) and simulation tools (e.g., ADAMS, hyperworks, MATLAB / Simulink).

Strong understanding of spacecraft systems, dynamics, and testing protocols.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills :

Advanced expertise in mechanisms design and multibody dynamics analysis for complex mechanical systems.

Prior experience in robotics, automation, or aerospace industries, with a proven track record in developing high-reliability mechanical systems.

Familiarity with advanced simulation tools (e.g., ADAMS, MATLAB / Simulink) for dynamic system analysis.

Strong background in mechanical system integration and testing, with a track record of successful project delivery in high-stakes environments.
