Role Overview
As a Lead Advisor, you will be the primary face of the firm for a select group of high-net-worth NRI families. This role requires more than financial knowledge—it demands empathy, relationship-building, and trust creation with clients spread across geographies. You will lead the financial advisory process end-to-end, supported by a strong team of Associate Planners, Operations, and CA partners.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Relationship Ownership
- Act as the dedicated advisor for assigned NRI families, ensuring high-touch, trust-based engagement.
- Design and implement customized strategies for wealth creation, retirement planning, estate structuring, and tax optimization.
- Regularly update clients on market outlook, regulation changes (FEMA, DTAA, taxation), and investment performance.
- Host structured review meetings (quarterly / half-yearly) and provide continuous, proactive advice.
Financial Planning & Investment Strategy
Develop goal-based financial plans using advanced planning tools.Recommend and monitor investments across mutual funds, PMS, offshore structures, NRE / NRO FDs, and other regulated avenues.Ensure portfolios are optimized for risk, liquidity, and cross-border tax efficiency.Work closely with internal research and operations teams to deliver seamless execution and reporting.Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor and guide Associate Planners in preparing client deliverables.Review plans and proposals before presenting to clients.Collaborate with CA partners, legal advisors, and other ecosystem experts to deliver holistic solutions.Firm Growth & Representation
Represent the firm at client events, webinars, and exclusive networking forums.Contribute to thought-leadership content (articles, videos, webinars) alongside the leadership team.Support client acquisition by leveraging referrals and professional networks.Desired Skills & Competencies
Deep knowledge of NRI investment avenues, taxation, FEMA, and DTAA regulations.Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple, trust-building language.High emotional intelligence, client-first mindset, and strong ethical values.Proven ability to manage relationships with HNI / UHNI clients.Comfortable working in a boutique setup where quality >quantity.
Qualifications
Graduate / Postgraduate in Finance, Economics, or related fields.CFP, CFA, or CA qualification preferred.Minimum 3–5 years of experience in wealth management, private banking, or investment advisory.AMFI / NISM certifications (or willingness to obtain immediately).
