We are seeking a skilled Retail POS Specialist to manage the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Point of Sale (POS) systems across retail locations.
The role requires hands-on expertise in POS software / hardware, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate between business users, vendors, and IT teams to ensure seamless retail operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement, configure, and maintain POS systems across multiple retail outlets.
- Collaborate with business teams, vendors, and IT departments to gather requirements and deploy POS solutions.
- Integrate POS systems with ERP, CRM, payment gateways, and inventory management platforms.
- Perform system testing, upgrades, and rollout activities for new POS features or releases.
- Troubleshoot POS software, hardware, and network issues in real-time to minimize downtime.
- Manage POS-related incidents and service requests through ticketing systems.
- Conduct user training sessions and prepare SOPs or technical documentation for store staff.
- Monitor system performance and ensure data accuracy and synchronization between central
servers and store terminals.
Ensure compliance with payment security (PCI-DSS) and data protection standards.Coordinate with hardware vendors for installation, repair, and warranty management.Support inventory audits, end-of-day reconciliations, and retail reporting functions.Requirements :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.2 - 7 years of experience in POS system management, retail IT support, or implementation.Hands-on experience with POS platforms such as Oracle Retail, LS Retail, Shopify POS, NCR, Verifone, or similar.Familiarity with payment integrations, printers, scanners, and POS hardware troubleshooting.Strong understanding of retail operations, billing workflows, and inventory systems.Experience with SQL databases, XML / JSON data exchange, and basic scripting.Knowledge of Windows / Linux environments and networking fundamentals.Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Willingness to travel to retail locations for on-site deployments and Skills :Experience with cloud-based POS systems or mobile POS (mPOS) implementations.Knowledge of integration with ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, etc.Exposure to API-based integration and third-party payment gateways.ITIL or equivalent certification is an added advantage.Experience in retail, QSR, or hospitality domains preferred(ref : hirist.tech)
