About MetFlux Research
MetFlux Research is building the ΩmeX ecosystem - a next-generation, biology-first AI platform integrating systems biology, multi-omics analytics, quantitative modeling, and deep physiology to decode human health states across metabolic, immune, gut, cognitive, skin, women’s health, aging, and developmental physiology.
Our translational R&D vertical, MetSolve, works with nutraceutical, wellness, pharma, diagnsotics, and life-science organizations to model bioactive efficacy, safety, mechanistic pathways, and predictive outcomes.
Our precision-care vertical, MetSights, converts these scientific insights into actionable clinical-grade intelligence for healthcare and wellness professionals.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Scientist (Physiology) to lead the physiological interpretation, mechanistic mapping, and biological validation layers within our multi-disciplinary R&D team.
This role is central to ensuring that our systems-biology models, multi-omics analyses, and mathematical simulations remain biologically correct, physiologically coherent, and translationally meaningful.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in subclinical physiology, metabolic and immune pathways, and multi-system interactions, and is capable of bridging domain knowledge with computational and modeling teams.
This role directly complements the Systems Biology and the Quantitative Modeling scientific team.
Key Responsibilities
Physiological Interpretation & Mechanistic Mapping
- Lead the translation of biological mechanisms into structured maps, causal pathways, and physiological processes for modeling teams.
- Provide domain expertise for multi-organ and cross-system interactions (metabolic, immune, gut-brain, endocrine, mitochondrial, etc.).
- Validate system-biology model outputs against physiological principles, clinical knowledge, and published verifiable literature.
Multi-Modal Data Integration
Interpret clinical biomarkers, metabolomics, microbiome patterns, imaging markers (DXA), genetics, and exposome data from a physiology lens.Identify subclinical drifts, compensatory mechanisms, and early-stage dysfunctions relevant to wellness and chronic-disease progression.Cross-Domain Research
Apply physiological knowledge across wide-ranging domains, such as : Metabolic health & energy regulation; Immune-inflammatory pathways; Gut physiology & host–microbiome interactions; Cognitive / neuro-metabolic physiology; Skin & barrier physiology; Women’s health & child development; Aging physiology & resilience pathwaysCollaboration with Modeling & Systems Biology Teams
Convert physiological insights into structured inputs for multi-scale models, ontologies, and simulation pipelines.Partner with systems biologists, mathematical modelers, and clinical scientists to : define constraints; annotate pathways; design validation layers; interpret model predictionsContribute to building the ΩmeX physiological ontology & knowledge graph across multiple health domains.Scientific Communication & Delivery
Draft mechanistic rationales, physiological summaries, white papers, and scientific reports for internal and client-facing work.Assist MetSolve R&D teams in shaping scientific narratives for nutraceutical / functional food efficacy, mode-of-action, and safety.Support proposal writing, grant submissions, and stakeholder communication.Qualifications & Experience
Education
PhD in : Human Physiology; Systems Physiology; Integrative Biology; Clinical Physiology; Neurosciences / Immunology / Endocrinology (with strong physiology background) or related fieldsExperience
5–8 years of research or industry experience applying deep physiological knowledge to multi-system health, clinical interpretation, or translational biology.Experience in multi-disciplinary, research-oriented, or computational biology environments preferred.Technical / Domain Expertise
Strong grounding in metabolic physiology, immune physiology, and host–microbiome dynamics.Ability to connect mechanistic physiology → phenotype → clinical relevance.Familiarity with omics data interpretation (metabolomics, transcriptomics, microbiome).Experience working with computational or modeling teams (not mandatory but highly preferred).Soft / Scientific Skills
Ability to critically evaluate literature and physiological mechanisms.Strong written and verbal communication.High ownership, scientific rigor, and cross-functional collaboration.Comfortable working in fast-paced, research-driven setupsAttributes We Value
Domain-agnostic curiosity across metabolic, immune, cognitive, skin, and aging physiology.Ability to break down complex physiology into structured, computationally useful frameworks.A systems-thinker who understands compensatory biology, network effects, and subclinical transitions.Passion for translational science and real-world application. How to Apply
