Job Profile : Fundamental Research (Financial Modelling and Valuation)

The Research Analyst position is a mid-level role designed to immerse candidates in the dynamic world of financial modelling and analysis. This position offers extensive exposure to equity and business research domains, requiring financial modelling, diligent research, and data analysis. The role involves sourcing, compiling, and synthesizing business information from a variety of public and proprietary sources to conduct business, equity, and investment research to support clients.

This position is ideal for candidates seeking to start their careers in financial research, offering ample opportunities for growth and development within the field. The Research Analyst will gain in-depth knowledge and experience, contributing to key research efforts that shape investment strategies and business decisions.

Qualification :

Postgraduate in Finance (MBA, MMS, PGDM), or International CFA (all three levels cleared).

Minimum 3 years of working experience in the financial services industry after completing the post-graduation.

Location : Mumbai (Andheri East)

Work Timings : 10 : 45 am to 7 : 45 pm

Working days : 5 days a week

Mode of Work : Work from Office

Roles and Responsibilities :

Assist in conducting fundamental analysis and equity research on companies in the client’s portfolio.

Support senior analysts or client analysts in building dynamic financial models, including integrated Income Statement / Balance Sheet / Cash Flow Statements, revenue / cost models, DCF valuation, comparable valuation, and sensitivity analysis.

Create and maintain earnings, valuation, and industry models for assigned stocks or industries.

Support senior analysts or client analysts in deep-dive secondary research, including data gathering, building and maintaining financial models, preparing reports, ratio calculation, and relative analysis with peers.

Research and extract relevant information from publicly available sources, including industry journals, company press releases, annual reports, regulatory filings, and various databases.

Utilize search engines and other tools to source detailed information on companies, leadership teams, and their contact details per client specifications.

Collaborate actively within the team to improve the efficiency of data collection processes and contribute to internal knowledge creation.

Handle ad-hoc research requests as per client requirements and ensure tasks are completed within deadlines with high-quality output.

Maintain flexibility to learn new techniques and functionalities.

Contribute to developing and maintaining databases for monitoring and analyzing industry trends and company performance.

Assist in writing research reports, including initiating coverage reports, equity research reports, earnings analysis, fundraising presentations, industry / sector reports, investment teasers, information memorandums, and pitch decks. This will be an added advantage.

Desired Candidate’s Profile :

Strong understanding of financial analysis, modelling, and valuation concepts

Experience in working on the US listed companies

Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to participate in the growth journey of the company

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
