Role Description :
This is a full-time, on-site role for a QA–QC Engineer, responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet the required quality standards and comply with project specifications, codes, and contractual requirements. The role focuses on implementing quality assurance processes, conducting inspections, documenting compliance, and supporting the delivery of defect-free construction.
Key Responsibilities :
Quality Assurance (QA) :
- Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
- Review project specifications, drawings, and standards to define quality requirements.
- Establish quality procedures for materials, workmanship, and site activities.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards and project protocols.
- Provide training and guidance to site teams on quality processes and best practices.
Quality Control (QC) :
Conduct regular inspections for civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works.Verify workmanship and material quality as per approved drawings, method statements, and codes.Monitor and record construction activities through checklists, test reports, and NCRs.Ensure that all tests (concrete, steel, soil, NDT, waterproofing, etc.) are carried out as per standards.Inspect incoming materials and ensure they meet approved specifications before use.Documentation & Reporting :
Prepare and maintain QA / QC documentation including ITPs, MIR, WIR, RFI, NCR, CAR, and test reports.Track all quality records and ensure they are updated, filed, and retrievable for audits.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management and consultants.Document deviations, corrective actions, and closure reports.Coordination & Compliance :
Coordinate with consultants, clients, PMC teams, and subcontractors for inspections and approvals.Ensure timely submission of quality documents, samples, and mock-ups.Assist procurement in approving vendors, materials, and testing laboratories.Support handover documentation including as-built drawings and quality dossiers.Continuous Improvement :
Identify recurring quality issues and recommend preventive measures.Monitor and implement corrective actions to eliminate non-conformities.Promote a culture of quality awareness on site through toolbox talks and training.Skills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of IS codes, construction quality standards, and specifications.Hands-on expertise in QA / QC processes for concrete, steel, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP coordination.Proficiency in documentation, report preparation, and audit processes.Familiarity with lab testing procedures and third-party quality control.Excellent communication, observation, and problem-solving skillsQualifications :
Educational Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.Diploma in Civil Engineering (for junior QA / QC roles).Preferred Certifications (optional but added advantage) :
QA / QC Certification in Civil Construction.ISO 9001 : 2015 Internal Auditor Certification.Training / certification in NDT, concrete technology, or material testing.Knowledge of relevant IS codes, ASTM standards, and project specifications.Experience :
4–5 years of experience for junior / mid-level QA-QC Engineer.6–12 years of experience for senior QA-QC roles.Experience with building, infrastructure, industrial, or high-rise projects is preferred.Technical Skills :
Strong understanding of construction quality standards, ITPs, method statements, and material specifications.Knowledge of testing procedures for concrete, steel, soil, waterproofing, and finishing materials.Proficiency in QA / QC documentation, audit procedures, checklists, and reporting.Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel, Word), and QA / QC software tools.Soft Skills :
Strong communication and observation skills.Ability to coordinate with consultants, clients, and site teams.Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.Good reporting and documentation abilities.
