Position Overview
The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality, usability, and accessibility of our web and mobile applications. This role emphasizes manual testing with a particular focus on Accessibility Testing in alignment with WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 and Section 508 standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and hands-on experience with accessibility tools and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive manual testing to validate product functionality, usability, and consistency across web and mobile platforms.
- Conduct Accessibility Testing in compliance with WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 and Section 508 guidelines.
- Identify, document, and track defects and accessibility issues using JIRA or similar tools.
- Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and business analysts to embed accessibility best practices throughout the software development lifecycle .
- Validate and re-test defect fixes and accessibility improvements before release.
- Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and accessibility checklists .
- Participate in requirement analysis and design discussions to ensure proper test coverage and early issue detection.
- Support integration, regression, and system testing phases.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback on user experience and accessibility enhancements .
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.5–8 years of experience in Software Testing, including at least 2 years dedicated to Accessibility Testing .Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 , ARIA roles , and Section 508 compliance standards.Hands-on experience with accessibility testing tools such as :NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, AXE, WAVE, Lighthouse, BrowserStack, and Color Contrast Analyzer .Proficiency in defect management and test tracking tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to identify and troubleshoot accessibility issues.Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills .Nice to Have
Experience with automated accessibility testing tools (e.g., axe-core , Pa11y , Lighthouse CI ).Accessibility certifications such as IAAP CPACC or WAS .Exposure to API testing tools (Postman, Swagger).Experience in Agile / Scrum environments.Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-device testing practices.
