Job Responsibilities :
- Monitor and analyze coverage from leading Bengali TV news channels, newspapers, and online media for politically significant developments.
- Track and report on social media activity, particularly X (Twitter), Instagram and Facebook, focusing on political leaders, influencers, and party communication.
- Quickly scan and identify trending or sensitive news and flag key updates to relevant internal teams.
- Prepare daily news summaries, issue trackers, and real-time media alerts for campaign and strategy teams.
- Maintain databases of verified information sources, journalists, and political handles.
- Coordinate with internal verticals (Digital Communications, Research, and Political Strategy) to ensure timely flow of verified information.
Minimum Qualifications :
1–3 years of experience in journalism, media monitoring, political communication, or related fields.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Political Science, or related disciplines.Native-level proficiency in Bengali (reading, writing, and speaking).Strong command of English, especially in written and spoken communication.Excellent analytical and multitasking abilities, with attention to accuracy and detail.Ability to work under pressure and deliver quick turnarounds in a dynamic political environment.Preferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with West Bengal’s political landscape, key media houses, and current affairs.Previous experience in newsrooms, digital monitoring, or political campaign communication.Proficiency in using Excel, Google Sheets, or media monitoring tools for tracking and reporting.Keen understanding of public sentiment, emerging narratives, and the dynamics between media and politics.Flexibility to manage extended work hours during campaign periods.
