Technical Manager

A banking Technical Manager oversees technical operations, such as managing technical evaluations for loans, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining property valuation standards. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing technical policies, managing risk and delinquency, performing technical audits, and communicating with other departments to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service delivery. The role requires strong technical and analytical skills, a deep understanding of banking and real estate, and effective leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical evaluations :  Oversee the end-to-end valuation process for collateral, ensuring it aligns with sanctioned terms and all technical aspects are handled correctly.
• Policy and standards :  Create and update location-specific technical policies based on local bylaws and practices, and ensure adherence to standard processes and technical standards.
• Risk and delinquency management :  Monitor portfolio movement, keep Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) at minimal levels, and develop strategies to manage and reduce delinquency.
• Technical audits and compliance :  Conduct technical audits, ensure compliance with relevant regulations (like RBI regulations), and monitor market trends and real estate developments.
• Stakeholder communication :  Act as a key point of contact, providing support and resolving queries from business teams, risk units, and other stakeholders.
• Team leadership :  Lead and supervise a team, manage their performance, and provide technical guidance and support.
• Process improvement :  Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the technical operations of the region.
