Role Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator (L3) to manage, configure, and optimize enterprise-level Linux and Solaris environments.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in storage solutions, patch management, performance tuning, and security hardening.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, proactive monitoring, and the ability to lead complex infrastructure support with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities :
Linux & Solaris Administration :
- Manage and administer Red Hat, CentOS, and Solaris servers.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of critical services.
Storage Management (OSD & Ceph Storage) :
Configure, maintain, and optimize distributed storage systems.Manage OSD nodes and Ceph clusters for scalability and performance.Patch Management (Satellite Patching) :
Perform patching and update activities using Red Hat Satellite.Ensure compliance with security and performance updates.Web & Application Servers :
Configure and manage Apache HTTP Server, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.Implement best practices for high-availability setups.Security & Compliance :
Manage user access controls, file permissions, and Linux firewall configurations.Perform system hardening and ensure compliance with security standards.Backup & Disaster Recovery :
Design, implement, and test backup and recovery procedures.Ensure data integrity and availability during DR scenarios.Container & Cloud Platforms (OpenShift) :
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot OpenShift clusters.Support containerized application environments and CI / CD pipelines.Incident & Problem Management :
Provide L3 level support for escalated incidents and complex problem resolution.Document processes, maintain SOPs, and ensure adherence to SLAs.Required Skills & Qualifications :
Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu) and Solaris systems.Experience with Ceph Storage / OSD management.Expertise in Red Hat Satellite patching.Proficiency in Apache HTTP server configuration & tuning.Solid understanding of Linux security practices (firewalls, permissions, access control).Experience in backup & disaster recovery solutions.Working knowledge of OpenShift and container orchestration.Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.Ability to work independently and lead L2 engineers.Preferred Qualifications :
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification.Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage.(ref : hirist.tech)
