Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This individual will have responsibility for conducting the product application process, including the proper application and selection of automotive / heavy-duty / other-motive products for both Gates Corporation and Gates Catalog Services clients. This process is in support of Product Marketing, Catalog Services, Sales Teams, Pricing and Customers. Automotive technical knowledge is an integral component to performing the following duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.

50%

Application Process : The incumbent will use online resources both, internal and external, to research global applications in a database system. He or she will find and implement new ways of collecting and processing data to improve the application process; share knowledge learned with stakeholders; and ensure the quality of the process.

15%

Discrepancies / Competitive Information : The incumbent will respond to discrepancies such that valid discrepancies are improved or eliminated year to year. He or she will validate proper interchanges compared to our competitors.

20%

Data Quality : The incumbent will assist Global, Product Application & Technical Manager, in correcting data quality in our own systems. He or she will utilize current database programs such as CCU and Part Source.

15%

Customer System : Incumbent will perform data entry into our customer systems, including creating export files to support Gates customers and their catalog systems. The incumbent recognizes the need for rapid response of application research.

This position functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements And Preferred Skills

QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

Bachelor's degree is preferred.

4-5 years of automotive technical / technician experience.

Experience in dealing directly with customers is preferred.

High degree of mechanical aptitude is required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

Required Skills

Experience with Automotive, Heavy Duty (on / off road) and / or other vehicle applications a must.

Must be capable of understanding vehicle part blueprints / documentation provided by OEMs.

Proficiency in English is preferred. Korean and Japanese speaking is a plus.

Works well under pressure, effectively handles conflict, and demonstrates flexibility in work style to accommodate changing priorities and fixed deadlines.

Self-motivated, capable of seeking quality solutions, and continuously focusing on process improvements, while keeping the needs of the business at the forefront.

Effective written and oral communication skills.

Extremely organized, ability to juggle multiple priorities, and flexible to accommodate changing business needs and fixed deadlines.

Strong team player; proactively able to step in to support other team members as needed, and share knowledge to allow cross training of all functions, builds collaborative relationships.

Working knowledge of Adobe Suite is helpful for images manipulation, watermarking images, creation of technical service bulletins
