Prepare U.S. 1120 federal and state tax returns for Franklin Resources, Inc. and its subsidiaries.Assist with notices, audits, and quarterly estimated tax payments.Prepare quarterly provision calculations including book / tax differences, Effective Tax Rate, Uncertain Tax positions, and FIN48.Complete other tax compliance and research tasks, including special projects.Research federal and state tax laws to support corporate decision-making and advise on tax mattersWhat ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful
- Education : Bachelor s / Master s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or tax, with completion of basic coursework for an advanced degree.
- Experience : Minimum of three years of tax experience in a Public Accounting / Big 4 firm preferred; private industry experience is a plus.
- Taxation Knowledge : Substantial exposure to US corporate and partnership taxation, tax requirements, and issues.
- Tax Preparation Skills : Skilled in preparing U.S. Federal and State Income tax returns and other US tax forms; corporate tax experience preferred.
- Accounting Background : General accounting background with experience in accounting principles, interpreting financial statements, and tax accruals; tax provisions experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills : Knowledge of tax software (Onesource Income Tax, State Apportionment, Onesource Tax Provision), Microsoft business applications, ERP systems, and tax research tools like Checkpoint.
- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to develop solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
