Job Title : Backend Developer (AR / VR Furniture Platform)

Location : Hyderabad (Hybrid)

Company : Skyfall Productions / AR Furniture Startup

Experience : 2–6 years

About the Role

We are building an immersive AR / VR platform that allows users to visualize furniture in their homes using Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, and mobile AR. We are looking for a strong Backend Developer to architect and build the core backend infrastructure powering the product catalog, user data, 3D model delivery, and real-time features.

You will develop APIs, manage databases, optimize asset delivery, and ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and fast.

Key Responsibilities API Development

  • Build RESTful or GraphQL APIs for :
  • Product catalog
  • User profiles & authentication
  • 3D asset delivery
  • Wishlist, saved rooms, and layout storage
  • Integrate with Unity & visionOS apps seamlessly.

Database & Data Management

  • Design and manage scalable databases.
  • Create schemas for :
  • Furniture items
  • Category structures
  • Variant metadata
  • Room design data
  • Implement efficient caching to reduce latency.

    • Cloud Infrastructure

  • Deploy and manage backend services on :
  • AWS / Google Cloud / Azure
  • Or Firebase / Supabase for MVP
  • Handle :
  • Cloud storage for 3D models (GLB / GLTF)
  • CDN for fast global delivery
  • Asset optimization & compression pipelines

    • Security & Performance

  • Ensure secure access, token management, and encrypted data handling.
  • Optimize API performance for real-time AR / VR requirements.
  • Build scalable backend that supports thousands of daily users.

    • Integrations

  • Implement integrations with :
  • E-commerce platforms (Shopify / WooCommerce)
  • Payment gateways (Razorpay / Stripe)
  • Analytics & logging systems
  • Create admin dashboard backend for furniture uploads & management.

    • Collaboration

  • Work with Unity and visionOS developers for data syncing.
  • Coordinate with 3D team to manage large 3D files efficiently.
  • Collaborate with UI / UX and Product for feature implementation.

    • Required Skills

  • Strong experience with Node.Js (Express / NestJS) or Python (FastAPI / Django).
  • Database experience with :
  • PostgreSQL / MySQL
  • Redis (for caching)
  • Experience with cloud platforms :
  • AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, CloudFront)
  • Or Firebase / Supabase
  • Knowledge of :
  • Authentication systems (JWT, OAuth)
  • WebSockets or real-time APIs
  • Asset handling (large file optimization)

    • Bonus Skills (Good to Have)

  • Experience handling 3D asset pipelines .
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture .
  • Experience with GraphQL .
  • Understanding of Unity networking or multiplayer systems.
  • DevOps experience with CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Docker).
