Job Description

We're seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our engineering team in building and scaling our next-generation geospatial AI platform. You'll work on challenging problems involving large-scale data processing, spatial analytics, and interactive visualizations that power critical business decisions for clients worldwide.

As part of our engineering team, you'll be developing solutions that handle billions of geospatial data points, building intuitive dashboards and analytics tools, and working with modern cloud infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with our head of engineering and contribute to both the technical architecture and implementation of features that directly impact our clients' success.

This role is currently remote based in Bangalore, India (or candidates willing to relocate), with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid work arrangement in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain features for our geospatial analytics platform using React.js, TypeScript, and Node.js
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices that process and serve geospatial data at scale
  • Work with PostgreSQL / PostGIS to design efficient spatial queries and data models
  • Implement interactive map visualizations and data exploration tools
  • Develop data processing pipelines for ingesting and transforming large geospatial datasets
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on architecture decisions and technical roadmap
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Optimize application performance and resolve technical challenges
  • Work with AWS infrastructure and deployment pipelines

Qualifications

Required :

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in React.js and modern frontend development practices
  • Solid Node.js backend development experience (Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or related engineering discipline (B.Tech / BE)
  • Advanced TypeScript knowledge with strong typing practices
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of RESTful API design principles
  • Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code with appropriate testing

    • Strongly Preferred :

  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database design and optimization
  • Experience with Redis or other caching / in-memory data stores
  • Experience with GIS technologies and geospatial data (PostGIS, GeoJSON, spatial queries)
  • Familiarity with map visualization libraries (Mapbox, Leaflet, DeckGL, or similar)
  • Experience with tile-based GIS and map rendering technologies
  • Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, or similar)
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS / Fargate)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation)
  • Understanding of spatial data formats and coordinate systems
  • Experience with data processing and ETL pipelines
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, etc.)
  • Background in working with location-based analytics or mapping products

    • Nice to Have :

  • Knowledge of spatial indexing and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with geospatial analysis libraries and tools
  • Experience with data visualization frameworks (D3.js, Recharts, etc.)
  • Understanding of hexagonal spatial indexing systems
  • Contributions to open-source projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
