About the Company

Symbiosis Open Education Society (SOES) is looking to fill the position of Information Technology Head. Preference will be given to candidates from Pune, seeking challenging, productive and satisfying careers.

About the Role

The Information Technology Head will manage the IT Department to provide support to students as well as internal users at a local and remote site.

Responsibilities

  • Manages assigned IT projects with adherence to budget, schedule and scope of the project.
  • Develop effective methods to track the progress of ongoing projects and prepare project status reports.
  • Communicate project initiatives, status, messaging across to all relevant units / departments.
  • Work with third party vendors to manage software applications, E-learning development, Assessment engines, on-demand online exam roll out.
  • Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success.
  • Develop a renewal and upgrade schedule for company software programs / IT applications.
  • Ensure that employees are following computer user policies, information security and privacy.
  • Participate in recruitment, orientation and ongoing training of new IT staff.
  • Supervise and direct IT personnel.
  • Prepare and submit MIS reports to the management.
  • Update the reporting authority regarding day to day activities of the department.
  • Prepare and execute the roadmap for the IT Department with the help of Top management.
  • Any other work assigned from time to time by the management.

Qualifications

  • Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • 10+ years experience in medium to large IT project management.
  • Conversant with Java, .Net, Oracle, Cloud, VMWare, Microsoft Windows, Google Apps administration, network administration and service desk administration.
  • Familiar with different hardware platforms, Operating Systems, digital marketing and IT applications.
  • Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Organised with attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles.
  • Thorough understanding of SDLC, IT procedures and practices.
  • Ability to motivate and lead groups to complete project within a given timeframe.

    • Preferred Skills

  • Experience with various IT applications and digital marketing.

    • The work location is Symbiosis Open Education Society (SOES), Model Colony, Shivajinagar, Pune Maharashtra.
