Job Profile :

Collaborate with reporters and editors to provide thorough research and background information for news stories and long-form journalism.

Fact-check all content for accuracy, relevance, and reliability.

Conduct data analysis and compile relevant statistics, reports, and research materials to support editorial projects.

Manage and maintain research databases, ensuring they are regularly updated and accessible to the editorial team.

Develop story ideas and assist in planning special reports based on extensive research and trends in the news industry.

Liaise with external experts, think tanks and institutions to gather insights and in-depth information on specific topics.

Stay informed on current events, media trends, and important societal issues to provide context for ongoing editorial coverage.

Ensure adherence to journalistic standards of accuracy, balance, and integrity in all content.

Create Backgrounders & Chronology of regional, national & international

events.

Indexing (assigning keywords) News Articles & Writing captions for Photographs.

To browse in-house databases and the Internet to provide statistical data for

Reporters and Editors.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred.

Qualification :

The candidate should have a Master's in Journalism / Mass Communication / English Literature / Political Science with Strong English-language skills.
