Senior Backend QA Automation Engineer – API Testing

THIS IS A LONG-TERM CONTRACT POSITION WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST, GLOBAL, TECHNOLOGY LEADERS.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Test Engineer with strong expertise in Backend | REST API Automation | Java | DevOps tools . You will be part of a dynamic engineering team in Pune, working on building robust, scalable, and high-quality cloud and web products. This is a hybrid role based in Pune.

Key Responsibilities :

• Own and execute end-to-end backend automation for new and existing features.
• Define the QA strategy for the team and set up robust release management practices .
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and convert them into detailed test plans .
• Write clean assertions that map to business acceptance criteria and maintain stable automation suites.
• Drive automation coverage within the scrum team and implement best practices for scalable and maintainable frameworks.
• Identify flaky tests, strengthen automation stability, and optimize the testing pyramid.
• Work closely with engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Primary Skills : Backend Automation (REST API), RestAssured, Java, Cucumber, Docker, Jenkins, Load & Performance Testing

Secondary Skills : Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, Mockito, Python, plunk
