Application Developer - SAP CO Management Accounting

Location : Pan India

Experience Required : Minimum 7.5 years

Educational Qualification : 15 years of full-time education

Summary :

As an Application Developer specializing in SAP CO Management Accounting, you will be a crucial part of our team, involved in designing, building, and configuring applications to precisely meet business process and application requirements. Your typical day will revolve around creating robust and efficient solutions that align seamlessly with business needs and application specifications, contributing significantly to our financial and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and configure SAP CO applications to meet intricate business process and application requirements, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and functional designs for SAP CO solutions.
  • Perform SAP CO module configurations, including Cost Element Accounting (CEA), Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Internal Orders (IO), Product Costing (PC), Profitability Analysis (PA), and Profit Center Accounting (PCA).
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions are bug-free and meet business expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, other SAP module experts (e.g., SAP FI, MM, SD), and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancements for existing SAP CO functionalities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test scripts, and user manuals.
  • Analyze and resolve complex SAP CO-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Participate in blueprint workshops and requirement gathering sessions to understand and refine business needs.

Professional & Technical Skills :

Must-Have Skills :

  • Proficiency in SAP CO Management Accounting : Demonstrable expertise across all sub-modules including :
  • Cost Element Accounting (CO-CEL) : Deep understanding of primary and secondary cost elements, and their integration with General Ledger (GL) accounts.
  • Cost Center Accounting (CO-CCA) : Strong experience in cost center master data, planning, allocations (distribution, assessment), and reporting.
  • Internal Orders (CO-OPA) : Expertise in internal order types, master data, budgeting, actual postings, and settlement processes.
  • Product Costing (CO-PC) : Comprehensive knowledge of product cost planning (cost estimates with quantity structure, without quantity structure), cost object controlling, and material ledger integration.
  • Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) : Hands-on experience with both costing-based and account-based CO-PA, including operating

    • concerns, characteristics, value fields, derivation, and reporting.

  • Profit Center Accounting (EC-PCA) : Solid understanding of profit center master data, assignments, and profit center reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles : Ability to link SAP CO functionalities to underlying accounting concepts (e.g., accruals, deferrals, depreciation, revenue recognition).
  • Experience in implementing SAP CO solutions : Proven track record of successful full lifecycle implementations, including design, configuration, testing, and go-live support.
  • Knowledge of SAP CO integration with other modules : In-depth understanding of touchpoints and data flow between CO and modules such as FI (Financial Accounting), MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), and PP (Production Planning).
  • Hands-on experience in SAP CO configuration : Ability to perform complex configurations, define new functionalities, and customize existing ones to meet specific business requirements.

    • Good-to-Have Skills :

  • Experience with SAP FI integration : A solid understanding of the integration points and processes between SAP CO and SAP FI, including new GL accounting.
  • Familiarity with S / 4HANA Finance : Knowledge of new functionalities and architectural changes in SAP S / 4HANA for Management Accounting.
  • Exposure to Fiori Apps for CO functionalities.
