About the Role :
We're looking for a Head of Engineering to establish world-class engineering standards and build a high-performing engineering organization. This is our senior engineering leadership role, reporting directly to the CTO.
You'll inherit a talented but flat team of ~20 engineers that needs structure, process, and leadership development. Your mission : transform how we build, ship, and maintain software while growing the next generation of engineering leaders.
This role is about engineering excellence, people development, and strategic thinking. We need someone who gets their hands dirty fixing foundational issues while building the processes and leaders to scale.
What You’ll Do :
Drive Engineering Excellence
- Focus on foundations — Establish local development environments, testing frameworks, data access and deployment practices that don't currently exist
- Set and enforce standards — Create lightweight processes for planning, testing, and deployment that increase both quality and velocity
- Eliminate critical risks — Ensure security, AI enablement, and data integrity are non-negotiable
- Ship incrementally — Transform our culture from "building cars" to "shipping skateboards" through clear review mechanisms
Build a High-Performing Organization
Structure the org — Move from 20 direct reports to a sustainable structureHire and retain top talent — Improve new hire failure rate through better assessment and onboardingGrow leaders — Coach and develop engineering ICs who can own their domains independently and become TLMsCreate accountability — Implement performance management that's fair, transparent, and drives growthEnable Strategic Execution
