Role Overview :

We are looking for a Lead Aerospace Design Engineer to take technical ownership of UAV airframe design and provide hands-on leadership to the aerospace and composite manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate should have strong fundamentals in aerospace design, in-depth experience working with fixed-wing and VTOL UAVs.

This is a core technical role, requiring both system-level design capabilities and practical involvement in composite prototyping and production.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the aerospace design team in conceptualizing, modeling, and validating UAV airframes.
• Own the full design cycle : configuration layout, aerodynamic shaping, structural sizing, and systems integration.
• Provide technical guidance to the composite manufacturing team for tooling design, layup strategies, curing, and assembly.
• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Perform CFD simulations to validate aerodynamic performance and optimize airflow characteristics.
• Collaborate with propulsion, avionics, flight control, and structural analysis teams to ensure full system integration.
• Support manufacturing through DFM (design for manufacturability) and material selection for lightweight, high-strength structures.
• Review prototype builds, resolve design / fabrication issues, and iterate quickly based on testing and feedback.
