Job Purpose
To manage and optimize warehouse (WH) operations through robust support, configuration, and implementation of SAP EWM and ECC systems. This includes ensuring high application uptime, maintaining inventory accuracy, enabling automation, and aligning system capabilities with business expectations to improve warehouse efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance inventory visibility across multiple WH locations.
Job Context
ABFRL operates in a complex and fast-paced retail environment, with varying warehouse processes across different locations. There is a need for immediate application-level support to maintain operational continuity and elevate WH efficiency through system stabilization, integration, and automation. The role requires both hands-on problem solving and strategic process improvement across SAP EWM / ECC, warehouse infrastructure, and inventory operations.
Key Result Areas (KRAs) & Supporting Actions
Warehouse Application Support & Uptime (EWM & ECC)
- Ensure timely resolution of issues raised by WH teams through active coordination and support.
- Maintain SAP EWM application uptime during WH working hours.
- Respond promptly to emails and calls to reduce downtime and operational impact.
- Support Application Leads in reducing EWM-related disruptions and improving system stability.
Application Configuration & Customization
Understand current and evolving WH processes and prepare documentation (BRD / FS).Work closely with WH users and SAP functional teams to capture new requirements.Ensure accurate configuration of systems for process mapping, data flow, and functional integrity.Develop and test custom programs and reports, ensuring successful UAT completion.Application Rollout & Implementation Support
Facilitate seamless EWM application rollouts with zero business function loss.Maintain rollout trackers, publish project status, and ensure smooth UAT execution.Develop and share SOPs, configuration documents, training content, and end-user manuals.MIS & Data Management
Create user-friendly templates and scripts for clean data input and uploads.Monitor data hygiene via exception reports and drive corrective actions.Deliver timely and insightful dashboards and MIS reports for warehouse performance tracking.Infrastructure & System Maintenance
Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams for performance monitoring and preventive action.Manage server maintenance, database volume, and implement archival / purging protocols.Conduct DR drills and manage backups (online / offline).Oversee OS / patch / firmware upgrades and SAP-recommended tuning.Warehouse Automation
Lead WH automation projects, including feasibility analysis and system integration.Interface EWM with third-party systems, ensuring data continuity and performance monitoring.Train users on automation systems and track performance against KPIs.Functional Specialization & Best Practices
Bring in industry best practices in warehouse management and EWM processes.Drive standardization of WH processes and support automation to reduce task time.Carry out SOP compliance, system upgrades, patching, and data control measures.People Management & Stakeholder Coordination
Build strong working relationships with WH Managers, key users, IT teams, and business functions.Mentor and manage the WH support team, ensuring high responsiveness and cross-functional alignment.Enable knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across teams.Desired Skills and Experience
