Position : Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric

Location : Remote

Experience : 10+ years

Shift Timing : 2 PM – 11 PM IST

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric with over 10 years of experience in designing, building, and optimizing large-scale data platforms across cloud and on-prem environments. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , with strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark SQL , and Power BI .

This role requires end-to-end ownership of data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and delivery, along with a focus on performance optimization, data governance, and CI / CD automation . The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, enabling data-driven decision-making across teams.

Responsibilities

Design and implement Microsoft Fabric pipelines and dataflows (Gen2) for multi-source data ingestion and transformation.
Develop Fabric notebooks using Python and Spark SQL for feature engineering and model-ready transformations.
Build and optimize Direct Lake models for low-latency Power BI reporting.
Implement CI / CD pipelines in Fabric using Azure DevOps for automated deployments.
Define and enforce data security, access control , and governance standards in Fabric.
Design and optimize BigQuery data warehouses on GCP , improving performance via partitioning and clustering.
Automate event-based workflows using Cloud Functions and enable near real-time data processing via Pub / Sub .
Collaborate with analytics, product, and data science teams to deliver reliable and secure data solutions.

Requirements

10+ years of proven experience in Data Engineering with strong exposure to Microsoft Fabric and GCP .

Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark SQL for data transformation and modeling.

Hands-on experience with Power BI , Azure DevOps , Git , and CI / CD practices.

Strong understanding of ETL / ELT , data modeling (Kimball, Data Vault) , and data governance frameworks .

Experience with BigQuery , Pub / Sub , Dataflow , and Dataproc on GCP.

Knowledge of data security, performance optimization , and metadata management .

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
