Role Overview :
- Database Architect will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of containerized database solutions (MySQL and Postgres) tailored for rApps in the AT&T environment.
- The role will oversee the complete lifecycle—from conceptual architecture through Docker image creation and Helm chart delivery—while integrating solutions seamlessly into AT&T's CI / CD pipeline and conforming to Application migration requirements. The architect will also design upgrade paths, custom backup / restore mechanisms, performance optimization strategies, and security hardening for databases running in constrained, non-operator-based environments.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead architecture design for MySQL and Postgres database containers, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.Collaborate with DevOps engineers to produce Docker images and Helm charts for database deployment.Integrate containerized DB solutions with AT&T CI / CD pipelines and rApp CSAR packaging.Define day0 / day1 configurations for varying DB sizes, workloads, and performance requirements.Establish processes for patch management, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.Design and implement custom backup / restore strategies in absence of platform-native support.Ensure full DSLA compliance and automated alert / reporting capabilities without developer intervention.Provide guidance and support during troubleshooting in delivery and initial deployment phases.Liaise with Ericsson Migration team, ATT Dev teams, and platform teams to resolve design constraints.Document architecture, processes, and operational guidelines.Required Skills & Experience :
10+ years in database architecture and design (MySQL & Postgres preferred).Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm charts).Proven record in designing high-performance, secure database solutions in cloud-native environments.Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.Familiarity with DSLA compliance, monitoring tools, and alerting frameworks.Solid understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies for containerized DBs.Knowledge of CI / CD pipeline integration and automation.Experience with production-grade troubleshooting and root cause analysis.Skills Required
