Job Title : Mines Manager (1st Class / 2nd Class Certificate Holder)

Job Purpose :
To ensure efficient and safe operations of the mine in compliance with all statutory regulations. The role involves overall planning, supervision, and management of daily mining activities, with direct accountability for safety, production, manpower management, and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead daily mining operations, ensuring adherence to safety, productivity, and environmental standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Mines Act, DGMS guidelines, and other statutory norms.
- Prepare and implement short-term and long-term mine plans, including excavation, drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities.
- Coordinate with geology, survey, electrical, mechanical, and HEMM teams for seamless operations.
- Maintain up-to-date statutory records, reports, and returns as per DGMS and IBM requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to ensure hazard-free operations.
- Supervise workforce deployment, training, and safety awareness among mine workers.
- Liaise with DGMS, IBM, MOEFCC, and other regulatory authorities as required.
- Monitor equipment performance, resource utilization, and material movement within the mine.
- Ensure effective implementation of safety management systems and emergency preparedness plans.
- Contribute to cost control, productivity improvement, and sustainable mining practices.
Qualifications : - Mandatory :
- First Class Mines Managers Certificate of Competency (Coal / Metal) OR
- Second Class Mines Managers Certificate of Competency (Coal / Metal) (Issued by DGMS India)
- Educational :
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mining Engineering
- Additional certifications in mine safety, environment, or management are an advantage.
Experience :
1st Class Certificate Holders : Minimum 815 years of experience in mining operations with 3+ years in managerial / supervisory roles.2nd Class Certificate Holders : Minimum 510 years of experience in mining, with exposure to shift supervision and statutory duties.Key Skills and Competencies :
Sound knowledge of open-cast or underground mine operationsStrong understanding of DGMS regulations and safety complianceExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in mine planning software (Deswik, Surpac, AutoCAD, etc. preferred)Ability to manage workforce, contractors, and regulatory interactions effectivelyCommitment to safety, environmental compliance, and sustainable mining practices
