Job Description : Requirements

Proven experience as a

Database Developer with a strong focus on PostgreSQL .

Proficiency in

writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions .

Experience with

database design, normalization, and schema creation .

Strong understanding of

indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning .

Familiarity with

PostgreSQL extensions (e.g., PostGIS, pg_stat_statements ).

Knowledge of database security best practices.

Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.

Familiarity with tools like pgAdmin, psql, and other PostgreSQL utilities.

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI / CD pipelines.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience with

cloud-based PostgreSQL solutions

Good understanding of PostgreSQL – Architecture, security, operational knowledge

Deep understanding of how PostgreSQL manages data, including tablespaces, data files, indexes, WAL (Write-Ahead Logging), and key processes like Postmaster and bgwriter

Proficiency in installing, configuring, and upgrading PostgreSQL instances.

Expertise in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, including SQL query optimization, index tuning, and server parameter adjustments.

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automating routine tasks, deployments, and maintenance
