About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead multiple Agile development teams working on the Solifi Product suite. This role requires a combination of strong technical acumen and people management skills. The Development Manager will be responsible for driving software development and product enhancements, transitioning products to microservice-based architecture, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, Product Management, and Operations
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage high-performing engineering teams responsible for core development and product enhancements.
- Oversee product development using technologies including Grails, Java / J2EE, Angular, Spring, Spring Boot, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server. Knowledge in Unibasic is good to have
- Translate product requirements into technical user stories and prioritize within Agile product backlogs.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of product features in line with business objectives
- Guide teams through microservices migration and architecture modernization efforts
- Conduct performance evaluations, mentoring, coaching, and career development of team members
- Hire and onboard engineers to build a scalable team
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders to align project planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Resolve technical blockers and ensure execution of agile ceremonies
- Maintain product integration with third-party tools and across other Solifi products
- Review code, provide architectural guidance, and enforce engineering best practices
- Participate in Technical Design reviews and take complete accountability and ownership on Solution proposed and delivered meeting the success criteria.
- Gather and analyze team performance metrics for continuous improvement
- Review key metrics like defect density, defect backlog, time spent , team velocity and take corrective and preventive actions to improve the same
- Stay current with evolving technologies, and evaluate their fit for the organization
- Represent development in design reviews and demos to internal / external stakeholders.
About you :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred7–10 years of software development experience, including at least 3 years in a people management roleProven success managing Agile / Scrum teams in a product development environmentStrong hands-on experience with Grails, Java / J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and microservices architectureExcellent knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL ServerGood to have : familiarity with Unibasic, product integrations, and legacy modernizationExperience designing and migrating systems to microservices architectureSkilled in modern development practices, including TDD, CI / CD, and DevOps pipelinesExcellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skillsAbility to coach teams, conduct reviews, and manage technical performanceKnowledge of cloud platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plusPrior experience with SaaS solutions, web technologies, and building secure, scalable architectures
