Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the executive team to develop organisational strategy, operating plans, and growth goals
- Advise the CEO and leadership on financial performance and long-term financial planning
- Report financial information to the Board and manage relationships with Finance and Audit Committees
- Support strategic decisions with rigorous financial analysis, risk assessment, and scenario modelling
Financial Management & Planning
Lead finance and accounting functions, including reporting, budgeting, cash flow, working capital, and financial controlsDevelop robust budgeting processes and forecasting modelsOversee day-to-day financial reporting and monthly / quarterly performance metricsEnsure cost efficiency by monitoring operating costs as a percentage of total deploymentCompliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with FCRA, financial regulations, and accounting standardsMaintain effective, compliant operations by continuously identifying and mitigating risksMonitor and report on fund utilisation, budget allocation, and under / over utilisationDrive accuracy in donor and audit reporting and financial transparencyTeam Leadership & Operational Excellence
Lead and mentor a team of 5+ finance professionals and consultantsDrive innovation by introducing technology-based solutions for reporting and automationContinuously evaluate the finance team's structure for efficiency and scalabilitySupport the professional growth of team members through coaching and developmentAlign team OKRs with the broader organisational strategyRequirements
10+ years of experience in finance-related rolesAt least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a high-growth environmentBachelor's degree required; MBA or CPA preferredDeep knowledge of finance, accounting, financial planning, and complianceExperience leading high-performing, cross-functional teamsSkills Required
