Job description

Utthunga is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Controls & Instrumentation Technicians to support the daily operations, preventive maintenance, and upgrade projects of industrial control systems. This hands-on role involves working directly with field instrumentation, control panels, and SCADA systems, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine checks, preventive maintenance (PM) , and troubleshooting of control systems and various field instrumentation.
  • Assist in the commissioning and testing of control system upgrades and modifications.
  • Support the installation and calibration of sensors, transmitters, actuators , and other field devices.
  • Monitor system performance and promptly report any anomalies or deviations.
  • Maintain instrumentation inventory , ensuring tools and maintenance logs are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of control panels, I / O modules, and network connections .
  • Strictly follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures during all maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and vendors during service visits or equipment replacements.
  • Provide essential support during shutdowns, startups, and emergency maintenance .

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills :

  • Basic understanding of instrumentation principles .
  • Hands-on experience with various field devices (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level instruments).
  • Practical knowledge of instrument termination .
  • Ability to effectively use multimeters, calibrators, and other diagnostic tools .

    • Soft Skills :

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities .
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and respond to urgent issues as required.

    • Education & Experience :

  • ITI / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or instrumentation roles.
