Director of Software Development & AI

Signalmash | Remote (India) : Hours : Split Shift / US mornings.| Occasional US Travel.

We're a fast-moving CPaaS and AI communications company based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, helping businesses cut through telecom red tape with powerful communications APIs backed by real human support. We're building AI that makes communications smarter—from intelligent routing and fraud prevention to automated customer engagement.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an ambitious, hands-on technical leader to establish and scale our AI engineering practice in India. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the future of AI-powered communications at a global scale.

You'll serve dual roles : deep technical architect driving our cutting-edge CPaaS AI vision, and engineering leader building our India subsidiary from the ground up.

What You'll Do

AI Technical Leadership

  • Partner with US leadership to define and implement our next-generation AI vision for CPaaS
  • Design scalable AI architectures leveraging MCP Servers, RAG systems, and cutting-edge LLMs
  • Stay on the bleeding edge of AI / ML developments, including agentic coding and autonomous systems
  • Write production-ready code, conduct rigorous reviews, and set high engineering standards
  • Optimize costs across AI infrastructure, LLM APIs, and cloud resources

Engineering Management & Team Building

  • Lead outsourced development teams in India, ensuring quality and timely delivery
  • Execute strategic roadmap to hire and scale an internal engineering team
  • Bridge communication between US leadership, product teams, and India-based developers
  • Define MLOps standards for deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement

    • What We're Looking For

    Required Experience

  • 7+ years in hands-on software engineering and technical leadership (SaaS / PaaS / CPaaS preferred)
  • Deep, production-grade experience integrating LLMs, RAG frameworks, and AI infrastructure
  • Strong full-stack engineering proficiency with demonstrated architectural expertise
  • Hands-on MLOps experience in high-traffic production environments
  • Proven success managing outsourced development teams and writing technical specifications
  • Understanding of modern development paradigms including agentic coding methodologies
  • Fluent professional English for executive-level communication

  • Based in India with ability to travel to US occasionally
